JATO staying with the pace of the market
JATO saw a significant increase in its research activities in 2008, mainly due to the growth in market events. JATO stays in line with the industry to supply the most accurate and up-to-date automotive intelligence to its customers.
Market events take place at different levels for a single vehicle version e.g. new trim levels or versions, specification changes, option or price changes, etc.
Market events increased on average by 13% compared to 2007 (15% cars and 7% commercials)... The average number of events per unique version has increased by 6%.

In terms of specific markets, JATO has seen an increase in market events recorded of ca. 39% for GB, 37% in Spain, 97% in Japan and 107% in Ireland.

JATO has observed that on average, manufacturers have increased the number of changes to their products and market events have increased. JATO researchers have reacted to all of these market events and coded the changes to the vehicles within the various JATO databases. Users have the information they need to make decisions and react to competitor market activity.
In addition to the increase in market events, the vehicles being marketed are becoming ever more complex with exciting new technologies and features. The quantity of optional equipment available for the average vehicle continues to increase.
