Here are the questions we asked Tim:

How long have you worked at JATO?

I have been with JATO for about seven and half years. At that time, I was the youngest specs researcher and employee in North America. After about four years as a specs researcher, I moved into the Analysis & Reporting team to begin a new journey with new challenges.

What are the main tasks you do in an average day at JATO?

I primarily focus on North American reporting and supporting the sales team, helping to fulfil our client’s requirements. On a daily basis I assist sales in the quotation process for new opportunities, create sample reports for prospective clients and follow up with the research teams regarding Quality Assurance of our data.

How often do you produce reports? And how are they delivered?

Typically the reports are produced on a monthly basis. Currently we are in discussions with a client to deliver a weekly incentive report. The majority of all reports are delivered through the very many solutions we offer to our customers.

What is the most difficult part of your role?

The Analysis & Reporting team is, arguably, the biggest user of JATO data. To have an in-depth understanding of all the different types of data JATO provides, what our data means, how it is researched, frequency of updates, difficulties in market, etc….I must have a comprehensive knowledge of our own data in order to best deliver a solution to our customers that will help them gain valuable insight.

What do you like best about your job?

What I enjoy most is the versatility and breadth that the role allows. What I mean is that because the job is project-oriented I am able to work with multiple different clients and help them fulfil their individual needs. This can at times be very challenging, like developing a new solution for a new client so they can understand and analyse data easier and other times help a current client with their job, making the vast amounts of data JATO provides, easier to consume.

Additionally, because of all the different types of data I work with, I have the ability to work well in all departments, internally and across the globe, and work/interact with some truly great “JATO colleagues.” This grants me access to a wealth of knowledge and best practices, from all backgrounds and cultures, to really understand the unique products we offer.

What is your proudest achievement from working at JATO?

My proudest achievements are gained through taking new projects and helping clients. Currently we have a big solution in development which will provide more in-depth, more accurate, and more competitive intelligence for the US market. Initiatives like these, the team and I are extremely proud of.
