JATO Cookie Policy

  1. Use of cookies

The JATO website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also allows us to improve the JATO website.

  2. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that are stored on your browser or the hard drive of your device’s hard drive if you agree. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. Other similar files work in the same way and we use the word ‘cookie’ in this policy to refer to all files that collect information in this way. For more information about cookies visit https://allaboutcookies.org/.

  3. What cookies are used?

Cookies are an extremely common technology for remembering certain information about a visitor to a website.  The vast majority of websites currently make use of cookies and they are commonly used for a wide range of tasks.  The following types of cookies are used:

    • Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our website. These essential cookies are always enabled because our website won’t work properly without them. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our website or use a shopping cart.

    • Analytical or performance cookies. These allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.

    • Functionality cookies. These are used to recognise you when you return to our website. This enables us to personalise our content for you and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).

    • Targeting cookies. These cookies record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests.

    • Social Media cookies. These cookies may allow interaction with social media platforms, such as LinkedIn. This information may be linked to targeting or advertising activities.

  4. Cookies set by third parties

We also use and work with a number of third party suppliers and partners (for example, advertising networks and social media platforms and other providers, such as Google) who set cookies on the JATO website in order to deliver certain services and features. For example, we sometimes embed pdf content from suppliers such as Adobe, which sets cookies on your device when you visit a page on the JATO website containing embedded content. We do not control the dissemination of any third party cookies.

To opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites, visit http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

You can find more information about the individual cookies we, and third parties, set and the purposes for which we/they use them in the table below:

  1. How to control cookies

As a default, on the JATO website all cookies (except for Strictly Necessary cookies) are declined. If you wish to accept any type of cookie, you can choose which type to accept by clicking on the “Cookie Settings” link in our cookie banner and making your selection. You can also choose to "Reject All" cookies in the cookie banner.

However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies you may not be able to access all or parts of our website.

Except for Strictly Necessary cookies, all cookies will expire as indicated in the table above.

  2. Email Tracking

Some of the emails JATO sends to you may contain a ‘web beacon pixel’ or tracked links which allows us to identify when you have opened the email and to verify which links contained in the email you have accessed. We use this information to determine which parts of our emails are of most interest to you.

You can delete the pixel by deleting the email. If you do not wish to download the pixel to your computer or other device, you can ensure this by selecting to receive emails from us in plain text rather than HTML.

Alternatively you can unsubscribe from our mailing list by contacting us at marketing@jato.com

  3. Changes

We may make changes to this Cookie Policy at any time by sending you an e-mail with the modified Cookie Policy or by posting a copy of it on the JATO website. Any changes will take effect 7 days after the date of our email or the date on which we post the modified policy on the JATO website, whichever is the earlier. Your continued use of the JATO website after that period expires means that you agree to be bound by the modified policy.

We also may make changes to the cookies listed in the table above from time to time. Where we do so, you will be presented again with the cookie banner on first visiting the site, after any such changes have been made. As mentioned above, the default position is that all cookies (except Strictly Necessary cookies) will be declined, unless you choose to accept them. You can of course also decide to select “Reject all” in the cookie banner.

  4. Contact us

If you have any questions or concerns about cookies or your privacy when using the JATO website, please contact us at marketing@jato.com
